Say Hello to Region 3 Advisor - Carlanna Livingstone, CPP

iStock-1351747503Hello Region 3 – all chapters in the state of California, we want to help you get to know your Advisor, CPP, Carlanna Livingstone a little bit more. Carlanna is a go-getter who is no stranger to California!

Can you tell us a little about yourself?

I live in Bonney Lake, Washington and am a mom to a 24-year-old son, Jeremy. I spend my free time hiking and backpacking with the Tacoma Mountaineers where I am a Hike, Backpacking, and Snowshoe leader and run a Conditioning Hiking Series. I also am on a Line Dance team with the Boot Boogie Babes, and we perform all summer at fairs, festivals and events locally. When I have free time from these activities I enjoy weekend road trips with my boyfriend, Brandon. I also try to spend as much time as I can with my parents, who live in Seattle in my childhood home.

How long have you been involved with APA and local chapters?050422_CLivingstone-1

I became a CPP in 2009 and attended my first Congress in 2011 where I met Bruce and Dee after they won Payroll Man and Woman of the year and I remember being star struck by them. I haven't missed a Congress since! Today I consider them both mentors and friends. I have been active with the Rainier Chapter in Washington for many years, helping with booking meetings and assisting with Conferences.

What goal would you like to achieve as a Regional Advisor?

I would like to get to know the people and chapters in my region and be and advocate for them. I have been fortunate to be able to attend the California Payroll Conference for several years, so I know many people in my regions, and I am looking forward to getting to know those I don't know yet.

What is the best advice you would like to give to the chapters in your region?

Stay connected to other Chapters in your region, as well as nationwide and learn from them. Don't be afraid to reach out to others, and me, with questions that come up in your Chapter. Chances are, someone else has navigated the issue in the past, and the one thing I love about the APA is everyone is willing to share what has and has not worked for them in the past.

How do you use social media to help promote and market the chapters in your region? What platforms do you use? What is your handle/profile name?

I am on Facebook and LinkedIn so please feel free to connect with me on either or both. Invite me to your Chapter pages, I'd love to see what you're doing and how I can assist. You can also find me on the NEW Chapter Leaders group you can find here: 050422_Region 3 Map-1https://www.facebook.com/groups/apachapterleaders. This will be a great networking tool, not just for you to ask me questions, but for you to ask that question of all Advisors and current chapter leaders.

How do you plan to interact with the chapters in your region?

Chapter leaders of Region 3, I plan to have regular meetings so we can discuss what is going on in your chapter. My goal is for these meetings will provide a time and place for us to share ideas, solutions, ask questions, and give answers regarding issues that are top of mind. I am also hoping I can meet many of you at the California Payroll Conference in October; I will be there!

Share below any greetings or questions you may have for Carlanna.
