Get to Know The Region 5 Advisor - Sue Noyes, CPP

Pink HiHello Region 5 – the chapters in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma and all other chapter leaders across the country! We want to share with you a little bit more about your Advisor, CPP, Sue Noyes.

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I live in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire with my husband of 36 years and our black Lab, Lexi. I am the payroll manager for J.Jill, a women's retailer based out of Quincy, Massachusetts. I've been with J.Jill for 23 years and in the payroll field for more than 30 years and consider myself a "payroll nerd." Personally, I enjoy designing and building websites for small businesses and non-profit organizations. On my time off, I love everything outdoors, especially taking my Jeep off-road.

How long have you been involved with APA and Local Chapters?

I attended my first New England Payroll Conference in 2003, obtained my CPP in 2006 and attended my first Congress in 2011 - Salt Lake City, Utah - an experience I will never forget! I even got my picture taken with Dan Maddux! I was HOOKED and have been actively involved at the Local, State and National level since then.

What goal would you like to achieve as a Regional Advisor?050422_SNoyes

My goal as a Regional Advisor is to provide assistance to any local Chapter that needs help - or even to help re-affiliate or start up a new Chapter! I also want to help bridge any gap that may exist between Chapter Leaders and the APA.

What advice would you like to give to the chapters in your region?

Don't try to re-invent the wheel. Reach out and network with other Chapter Leaders (around the Country) and your APA Advisor - they have a wealth of knowledge to share, including what works and what doesn't work.

How do you use social media to help promote and market the chapters in your region? What handles do you use? What is your handle/profile name?

I mostly use Facebook and LinkedIn for promoting events. On Twitter, my handle is @snoyesCPP. I post on our Conference pages and also share the posts on my personal page and, if appropriate. I also share on the "Certified Payroll Professionals (CPP & FPC)" Facebook page. Don't forget about the new "APA Chapter Leaders" Facebook page! That's a great resource for Chapters to ask and answer questions! Sharing is caring!

50422_Region 5 MapHow do you plan to interact with chapters in your region?

I will definitely use email to share information with the Chapters in my Region and will try to schedule quarterly Zoom/Teams calls to use as an open forum for Chapter Leaders to bring up questions or concerns they may have. I'm open to any method of contact when a Chapter Leader needs assistance - whatever works best for them!
