Educational events such as Cram for the Exam and A Day of Calculations, plus a contest that rewarded more than 20 membeLogo-3rs with APA learning opportunities, lifted the Washington Metropolitan Area Chapter of the APA (WMAC-APA) to Chapter of the Year honors Tuesday night, May 18, during the APA’s Congress Xstream Chapter Exchange.

Besides the educational offerings, WMAC-APA provided opportunities for their chapter members to earn entries into a Virtual Congress Contest it held if they attended chapter meetings, webinars, and other events. The chapter was able to send 20 of their members to the APA’s 2020 Virtual Congress, one to the APA’s 2020 Congress Xstream, and one member received an APA membership for a year.

“Educational efforts were outstanding—Cram, Calculations, Virtual Congress Contest!” one Chapter Recognition Committee member wrote of WMAC’s efforts.

The Congress Xstream chat was a blur as attendees congratulated the honorees.

"Congratulations, Washington Metro and all the winners," said Michelle Ganzer, CPP.

Michael Baer, CPP, chimed in with, "Whoa, Nellie! Congrats, WMAC! You did it!"

WMAC-APA was a recent Chapter of the Year recipient, taking the title in 2019.
