We at the American Payroll Association (APA) can’t get by without a little help from our friends, which is why the Association honors a Special Friend each year for his or her contributions.
This year’s Special Friend Award, presented during Friday’s Luncheon, went to attorney Joanne Mitchell-George, Editorial Director with Wolters-Kluwer Legal and Regulatory U.S. She did not attend this year’s Congress for good reason—the impending birth of a grandchild.
She was editor and is now the author of the APA Basic Guide to Payroll.
Mitchell-George has more than 40 years of experience in payroll editorial. She has authored and helped develop several books on payroll, including California Payroll Guide, Ohio Payroll Guide, and Pennsylvania Payroll Guide.
She first began reporting on the APA’s Annual Congress in the 1980s as writer and Managing Editor of Payroll Manager’s Letter.
