Empowering and inspiring Annual Congress attendees was key to motivational speaker Brad Montgomery’s presentation “Embrace Your Awesomeness” during the 36th Annual Congress Closing General Session on Friday afternoon.

“Embrace Your Awesomeness” is sponsored by The Canadian Payroll Association.

Through music, stories, and nontraditional PowerPoint, Montgomery kept the crowd entertained as he spoke about personal and professional meaningfulness and purpose in a way that helped audience members remember to fully enjoy their lives both at work and at home.

He also reminded audience members not to forget how significant each of them are in their own way, and spoke about the skills they already possess to strategically improve themselves, their families, and their organizations.

“By focusing on the people side of everything, our approach is kinder and friendlier, as well as more successful,” Montgomery told Congress Today before his presentation. “We all crave the same thing: to be listened to, to be heard, to be acknowledged, and to be reminded that we make a difference.”

Over his long career, Montgomery has learned to listen to his instincts. These days, his instincts tell him that Americans are frightened and overwhelmed. He hopes his presentation and message about self-worth sticks with audiences so that they can wake up every morning and feel excited about moving forward.

“We want them to know exactly what they want to do next, and have the motivation to do so,” Montgomery said. “We want them to feel better about themselves, the conference, their jobs, and even their families. Most of all, we want to give them more energy to take after the program than they had at the start.”
