Mike O'Toole, Esq., Leaves a Payroll Legacy

mikeotAfter 25½ years, Mike O’Toole, Esq., Senior Director of Publications, Education, and Government Relations for the APA, retired from the APA at the end of 2018. At the APA’s 37th Annual Congress in Long Beach, Mike was awarded a crystal boot for his service for the last quarter century.

He started working for the Association in 1993 when Executive Director Dan Maddux hired him to author what would later be known as The Payroll Source®.

 “What APA has become is a modern and diversified professional association that not only supports the payroll community at large, but is poised to meet the coming challenges of continuing technological advancement and globalization,” O’Toole said. “It has raised the profile of the payroll professional.”
