The moment attendees had been anticipating was finally here. The Expo officially opened yesterday afternoon.

“Implementation Is Everything” kicked off a series of demos at the Global Cash Card booth. Presenter Lisa Knisely, the company’s Vice President of Field Support, was excited that attendees got “to see the coming together of Global Cash Card and ADP” with the launch of Wisely.

Rosina Romain, Payroll Manager, Comptroller of Maryland, found Knisely’s brief presentation on successful employee paycard launches helpful.

“We’ve been trying to make the move to a paycard for a while,” she said. “Perhaps one of these selling points will help convince our staff.”

There was quite a bit of interest in paycards from many Expo attendees Wednesday afternoon.

“We’re definitely interested in paycards and other tools to help improve our processing of payroll,” said Jennifer Person, Payroll Director at the University of Connecticut.

Celia Fletcher, CPP, Payroll Manager at G4S Secure Solutions, had already identified the paycard vendors she wanted to contact before coming to the Annual Congress.

“I always enjoy the Expo,” she said. “The atmosphere here is great.”

Exhibitors were ready to share information with existing and prospective clients alike.

“It was great seeing our existing customers and our future ones,” said Dean Cowles of Ultimate Software.

Michael Baer, Managing Editor of Bloomberg Tax, appreciated the opportunity to acclimate his existing customers to a new, more mobile-friendly platform.

“We want to showcase how we’ve consolidated domestic and international payroll information into a single interface,” he said.

Those who weren’t on the hunt for information about paycards or other products and services visited the APA Solution Center to learn more about volunteering, joining local chapters, and preparing for certification exams.

The Expo Grand Opening Cocktail Reception was sponsored by Netspend.
