Tour the Chapters Section on the New APA Website

This February, the American Payroll Association launched a brand new website with easier navigation and better functionality. The Chapters section is now highlighted at the top of the website, making links for chapter officers easier to find. Due to this update, the URLs for many of the former webpages have changed. Chapter webmasters should verify that all links leading from their chapter website to the APA website are correctly hyperlinked. Otherwise, chapter members might stumble upon the dreaded ‘404 error page’.

Take a tour below to view the tools and resources found in the new Chapter section:

The “Chapters” button is at the top of the menu bar. It will remain visible when clicking through different parts of the website.

On the Chapters main page, the first option is “Find a Chapter”. This page allows users to search for a local chapter by state or region. Each chapter profile contains useful information about chapter contacts, chapter memberships, and chapter events.

The second option is “Reaffiliate Your Chapter/Affiliate a New Chapter”. This page contains the instructions and applications for affiliating a new chapter or reaffiliating a current chapter.

The third option is “Register/Find a Chapter Event”. New to the Chapters section of the APA website are online registration forms! Registration for chapter events and study groups can be completed quickly and conveniently. These forms are only accessible by current, registered chapter officers. In order to register an event or study group, the chapter must be currently affiliated with APA and the chapter officer must be logged in with their ID number and password. This page also features lists of all upcoming chapter events and study groups*.

*Events and study groups must be registered with APA to appear on the “Find a Chapter Event” page. Processing for these events may take up to 7 business days.

The fourth option is “Enter a Chapter Contest”. This page contains contest information and submission instructions for the Chapter of the Year Contest, Annual Chapter Contests, and NPW Contests.

The “Grow Your Chapter” page is your one-stop-shop for chapter resources. It contains material relating to certification, chapter administration, chapter events, chapter marketing, and affiliation. If you are looking for a form or guide, you will find it here!

The “Chapter Mentor Program” page provides information about CHAMPS (Chapters Helping APA-chapters Make Payroll Shine), which is a chapter-to-chapter referral and networking service. From this page, chapter members can submit a question regarding a chapter issue or sign up to be a CHAMPS volunteer.
