Avoid April Foolery by Reaffiliating Your Chapter on Time

04.01.2021Today is April Fool’s Day, a day for pranks and fun. But it is also the first day of a new month, which means your chapter may be due for reaffiliation with the APA. Although deadlines vary by month throughout the year, every APA chapter is required to reaffiliate on an annual basis—and it’s no joke.

The APA is dedicated to supporting the projects and initiatives of all its chapters by providing extensive support and a slew of resources. However, to receive those benefits, chapters must submit an annual update on their leadership positions and reaffirm their compliance with key APA policies.

If your chapter is late to reaffiliate, APA will temporarily deny or delay RCH requests, mailing list requests, and access to chapter registration forms. Your leaders will also miss out on monthly ‘National Chapter News’ emails with important information and exclusive promotions.

Thankfully, the process to reaffiliate is simple and easy to follow!

  1. Review policies and guidelines found on pages 13-21 and 45-48 of the Local Chapter Guide.
  2. Fill out and sign the Application for Chapter Reaffiliation (digital signatures are allowed).
  3. Submit the application and a current chapter member list in Excel format to ChapterRelations@americanpayroll.org.
